Basketballs getting stuck atop a backboard aren’t an uncommon occurrence. What made the one in the second half of Thursday’s Illinois-Ohio State game particularly funny was how hard Illini big man Nnanna Egwu tried to dislodge it.
With a basketball floor mop in hand, Egwu jumped over … and over … and over … in an attempt to get the ball down (he eventually succeeded). Illinois head coach Jon Groce likely wished he had the same kind of effort from his team as the Illini suffered their fifth straight loss, 62-55.
