For a brief moment during Wednesday’s Illinois-Nebraska game, the officials seemingly changed the rules so that a player was permitted three steps before having to pick up his dribble.
Illini guard Rayvonte Rice was the beneficiary of this unofficial, temporary rule change in the first half, clearly taking three steps en route to a breakaway dunk yet not getting called for a travel.
Even Dwyane Wade thinks that’s a travel.
Unfortunately for Illinois, even having the rules bent in their favor couldn’t prevent them from losing for the ninth time in ten games, 67-58.
